• St. Joseph's Historical Preservation Society (Durham): 20 PC's
  All PCs have software installed, delivered to St Joseph's. PC's installed in offices, new Linux server installed, backups now being done nightly. Tech support is provided as needed on an ongoing basis. Computer lab set up is on hold until they are ready to set up the lab.10/18/06

• Lakewood Elem - replace 1 PC Replace 1 PC. Software installed. Will be delivered and installed soon. 6/5/07 Waiting for school to restart to deliver and install machine.

• Watts Elem - 5 PC's to replace broken machines Replace 5 PC's (P3's) that have stopped working. Software has been installed. PC's will be delivered when school restarts. 6/4/07

• Edge - Fran Alexander - new lab - 17 PC's Move to new building. 15 old PC's to be moved and installed. Need 15 more PC's for lab plus printers. Ethernet wiring must be pulled to classroom. Old machines are now disconnected and ready to be moved. Printer has been found. Network wiring will be pulled by Wed. 17 more PC's are needed. 7/16/07

• TYLF Life Center / George Gregory - 16 PC's + Server Requested 16 PC's plus a server. 16 PC's have been delivered and installed. Server is delivered, but not yet installed. Once installed I'll join these PC's to the domain and define network printers. I've replaced cable for connection of this lab to the Internet and installed data switches. All machines are now on the Internet. In progress. They are closed down until mid summer now. Chairs have been located. Need to pick them up and deliver them. Expect to finish 7/07. 7/16/07

• EK Powe - 1 Mac for Dottie's tutees One G4 tower will be delivered this summer. Also, waiting for Mac OS 10.4 license. Then, I will install software and deliver, so ready for fall.6/1/07

• Forestview Elem iMacs 45 iMacs from Student Affairs. Wiped and Delivered. As far as we are concerned, this is completed. They are still waiting for Mac OS X 10.4 licenses which were promised by Charles Douglass. Request for 60 licenses (for all our schools, including Lakewood, Rogers/Herr, Morehead, Powe, Watts) has been sent to Ron Whalen, who forwarded it immediately to Matt. Waiting to hear from Matt concerning licenses. to be wiped and have an OS.

  (Note: we decided that Macs will be wiped by removing drives and placing them in PC's to be wiped by EBAN and wiping is in progress.) In progress, but waiting for licenses

• Durham Senior Center: 30 PC's
  Machines installed in staff offices, building network set up. Computer lab set up, two laser printers installed, Microsoft Office has been installed on all PC's. Linux server is installed, student accounts defined and PC's in lab are joined to its domain. Completed

• Keyboards and mice to Achievement Academy (Sandee Washington)
  email sent to Sandee Washington requesting how many and where to take them She responded 9/5/06: She found keyboards and mice, so this project is completed.Completed (9/5/06)

• 15 PC's for Durham Mentoring Tutorial, Eternal Life Baptist Church (Henry Edmonds): PC's have been configured, delivered and installed. 9/22/06. Completed
• PC for E'Vonne Coleman's tutee. Software installed and it's available for pickup from Duke Surplus. Picked up.Completed 9/8/06
• 4 PC's for Lyon Park. Replace broken computers in both labs. Completed 9/8/06
• Lakewood Elementary - DPS. 8 PC's needed to replace broken machines. 8 PC's have been delivered, and now installed. Completed9/26/06
• DSA. 70 PC's. 35 PC's available on pallet, no software, for pickup by DPS.9/26/06 Picked up by DPS.
• Seesaw Studios: delivered 2 PC's and one color laser prnter. Completed 10/25/06

• PC's for Franklin County Health Dept (Kaye Schlitz): 10 PC's
  Machines have been picked up from Duke Surplus. Completed 11/6/06

• BOOST Tutoring program: 15 PC's.
  Software and modem installed on all PC's. All PC's completed by 9/5/06. Available for pickup starting Wed 9/6/06 from Duke Surplus. List of names authorized to pick up these machines is at Surplus (signature required). The original 15 PC's have been picked up. Completed 11/04/06
• BOOST program - 2 additional PC's.
  2 more pc's were picked up by Rebecca and the one PC for Adam's student that was broken has been replaced. Completed 12/19/06

• Durham Public Education Network. The request was for 1 desktop PC's. Delivered and installed. Completed 11/06

• John Hope Franklin Scholars. 10 PC's. (Reqested by Dottie Black for Micah Gilmer). Software installation completed. Delivered by Dottie12/8/06

• Durham NAACP - Fred Foster. PC plus printer. Configured, delivered, and installed. Completed 1/09/07
  Note: there will be more with NAACP, but I'll add as additional projects. (Adding Linux server, e.g. I'm now part of their Technology Committee).

• Lakewood Elementary. Install 22 new PC's. Completed. All machines have been moved into rooms and old equipment removed. Printers defined. Completed 1/12/07

• Lakewood Elementary. Install 2 PC's. Completed. 1/22/07

  Y-Learning Program, Lakewood YMCA, Josephe Featherstone 12-15 PC's have been requested. Software installation is completed and machines have been delivered. I suspect they may still need assistance in setting up the machines and perhaps networking them, but I'll treat that as a separate project if requested. This project is completed. 2/2/07

• Durham Literacy Center office and lab move. Office move completed. Lab move to Lakewood Baptist Church completed. Network wiring completed, including Road Runner connection. All machines are installed and working. Completed 2/2/07

  Note: Because of mold in their building, DLC is moved (for a year?). Also, their lab in Kestrel Heights school needed to be moved, since Kestrel moved out of that building. I've moved their Kestrel lab PC's to storage, moved to share office space with DPEN at South Square. They have also set up a learning lab in Lakewood Baptist Church (on Chapel Hill Road near Lakewood Shopping Center).

• Stagville - 8 PC's and Server. Completed. 8 PC's configured, server configured, clients joined to domain. Donated ethernet cables, data switches, and power switches. All equipment has been picked up. 4/23/07

• Rogers-Herr/Andy Scott 1 PC to replace stolen machine. Complete.5/17/07

• Durham NAACP server and network wiring of office Installed a linux file and web server in their office. Also pulled cable and installed a wired LAN and added a wireless access point, which I supplied them, as well as ethernet data switch. I also replaced one PC (they received 3 PC's in all, 2 workstations and one server). I got their Verizon DSL connection to work. Everything is working now. Completed. 5/22/07

• Belize / Arlie Petters/Andrew Schretter10 PC's and monitors for Belize summer program. 10 PC's, monitors, cables, data switches, power strips and cords were all shipped 5/23/07. Surplus paid for UPS shipping. Completed. 5/23/07

• Lakewood Elem 3 PC's to replace stolen machines. Completed. Machines installed in classrooms.5/29/08

• Rogers-Herr Technology Showcase 2 PC's. Completed. Delivered 5/29/075/30/07

Recently Completed

• West End Community Center 15 PC's. 15 new PC's were purchased and received recently. These are to be installed instead of the 14 Dell SX270's that I have ready for them. Installation of the new computers completed. 7/16/07

• KPIC / African Children's Choir 5 PC's have been installed. Software installation for 2 more completed. Server is in place. Satellite Internet connection is now up and running. Ethernet cable has been pulled to the lab and data switches installed. All computers are now on the Internet. Delivery and installation of extra two PC's will be finished soon. Completed. 7/16/07

• Edge / Paul Ingui 15 Computers for lab. Software installation complete. Delivery completed. I've obtained data switches and power strips and installation is complete including server. 6/11/07

• Durham Senior Center - replace 1 PC Replace 1 PC with video problems. Software has been installed. Machine delivered and installed. Completed.6/8/07

• Lyon Park Community Center / Calvary Ministries Remove old equipment from computer lab. Connect new computers to server, define printers. In progress. An assistant has been recruited and trained. Installation of new machines is in progress.6/11/07

• West End Community Center - educational software installation Install educational software packages on PC's in lab. In progress. 7/16/07

• EBAN server installation - new version - prompt for surplus tag number. New version (which uses VMWare player) was downloaded and installed, works with a PXE-boot CD downloaded from Techway or from built-in PXE boot.

  The EBAN server software is working properly on this server. (It runs under VMware).

  Waiting for Surplus move to Kangaroo to be completed, plus bar code scanners to be obtained for each wiping station (required by new version of EBAN). However, use of the new wiping server does not have to wait for scanners, since numbers can be typed in manually as if the bar codes were unreadable.6/1/07

  Still to be done for server: backup operations (TSM) implemented in conjunction with John Cook's group from OIT.
