How to add Apple Laserwriter TCP/IP printer in Win XP

Apple Laserwriter's must be as port type LPR port under Windows XP and Win 2000. However, by default, the LPR port type is not an available choice. A Windows XP/2000 component must be added for this port type to be an available choice when adding a printer. Thus, there are two steps in the process: 1) add Windows Component, and 2) add local printer with port type LPR.

Adding Windows XP/2000 component to allow LPR printer port type

(Note: you must be logged onto the PC as an administrator)

-->Start -->Controll Panel --> Add or Remove Programs
-->Add/Remove Windows Component (button on side of window)
-->Other Network File and Print Services (scroll down to find),
	(make sure check box has x in it - just click on box to select)

Make sure Windows XP (or 2000) CD is in drive.

You may have to Browse to find the location of the I386 folder.

-->Finish
